Implementing the Western Balkans Agenda for the Innovation, Research, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport
As part of the POLICY ANSWERS project, our researchers Dr. Zoran Aralica, PhD, and Dr. Ljiljana Božić, PhD, participated in the development of contextual indicators and the preparation of scorecards for monitoring indicators of Western Balkan economies related to research and development, education, youth, culture and sport, the digital environment, and the common regional market.

Main achievements of POLICY ANSWERS by the end of 2024

Mobility of researchers from the Riinvest Institute in Kosovo
Within Work Package 5 of our project, we had the pleasure of hosting two researchers from the Riinvest Institute in Kosovo (Riinvest Institute), which is also a project partner. Halim Mahmuti and Benet Maloku stayed with us for two weeks, hosted by our researcher Dr. Zoran Aralica, PhD.
As part of the researcher exchange programme among partner institutions within the project, our colleagues had the opportunity to meet members of the EIZ project team, improve their skills, acquire new knowledge, and create new opportunities for cooperation.
We thank our colleagues for their stay and for the exchange of ideas and experiences, and we look forward to new joint project opportunities and collaborations in the future.

Ministerial meeting of Western Balkans governance platforms in Tirana
From 27 to 28 June 2022, a ministerial meeting was held in Tirana (Albania), organized as part of the POLICY ANSWERS project, in consultation with the European Commission and another European Commission collaborator (Cecoforma). The meeting was attended by ministers of education, research, and culture from Western Balkan countries, as well as numerous experts. The meeting brought together around 130 participants, including approximately seventy experts.

POLICY ANSWERS project kick-off meeting in Vienna
R&I POLICY making, implementation ANd Support in the WEsteRn BalkanS - POLICY ANSWERS project officially kicked off on 14 and 15 April 2022 in Vienna, bringing together all of its 14 partner organisations, including EIZ’s team with Zoran Aralica, PhD as a team leader. The project coordinator is Austrian Centre for Social Innovation (Zentrum für Soziale Innovation GmbH - ZSI), and the other members of project consortium are:
