Summary:
The importance of creative and cultural industries has grown significantly in the last two decades, both in Croatia and at the European level. In 2019, creative and cultural industries accounted for 4.4 percent of the GDP of the EU. This project aimed to analyze the contribution of creative and cultural industries to the overall Croatian economy in the 2015–2019 period. It was expected that the importance of these industries in the overall economy and their business success grew in this period. On the other hand, in 2020 the trend shifted abruptly as creative and cultural industries suffered a major blow due to the emergence and spread of COVID-19 and accompanying measures of social distancing and closure of economies. Accordingly, this study aimed to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the creative and cultural industries.
