Survey on privacy and surveillance

Commissioned by: The Institute of Economics, Zagreb
Project duration: 2011 – 2013
Project manager: Jelena Budak, PhD

Brief outline:
Survey on privacy issues and surveillance is launched to collect the database that would enable the researchers of the Institute of Economics, Zagreb to explore this topic in the Western Balkans region. In relation to the worldwide literature on surveillance, there has been no such research available for the region. The phone interviews have been conducted in Croatia and Serbia and the project will be extended with the survey in BiH and FYR of Macedonia. It consists of about 60 questions examining the public opinion on privacy and surveillance. The collected data would enable the comparative reserach on public attitudes towards privacy, data protection and surveillance, and consumers concerns about these issues.
