6th REDETE Conference: “Effectiveness of government regulation in reducing online privacy concern” paper presentation 

Project leader Jelena Budak and project team member Bruno Škrinjarić attended the 6th REDETE Conference: “Researching Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies - The Role of Government in the Economy”, which was held in Banja Luka from April 13-14, 2018 and organized by the University of Banja Luka.

The paper Effectiveness of government regulation in reducing online privacy concern, presented at the conference, is a result of work done in the scope of the PRICON project, co-authored by Bruno Škrinjarić, Jelena Budak and Edo Rajh. The paper will be published in the conference proceedings.

GIKA 2017 Conference: “How Online Privacy Concern Affects Decision Making of Internet Users” paper presentation


 

Project leader Jelena Budak and doctoral researcher Vedran Recher participated in the conference “GIKA 2017: Innovation, Knowledge, Judgment, and Decision-Making as Virtuous Cycles” held in Lisbon (Lisbon School of Economics and Management) from June 28 till June 30, 2017.

The paper “How online privacy concern affects decision-making of Internet users”(authors: Ivan-Damir Anić, Jelena Budak, Edo Rajh, Vedran Recher, Vatroslav Škare, Bruno Škrinjarić)  presented at the conference, is a result of work in the scope of the PRICON project, fully supported by Croatian Science Foundation.

5th REDETE Conference: “Personal Values of Internet Users: A Cluster Analytic Approach” paper presentation 


Project leader Jelena Budak and project team member Edo Rajh attended the fifth “Researching Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies” conference held in Belgrade from 28 to 30 October, 2016, organized by the University of Banja Luka and University of Beograd. 

The paper “Personal Values of Internet Users: A Cluster Analytic Approach”, presented at the conference, is a result of work in the scope of the PRICON project, co-authored by Jelena Budak and Edo Rajh together with a student of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb Mateo Žokalj. The paper will be published in the conference proceedings and is also available in EIZ Working Papers

45th Annual Conference of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC 2016)


Member of the PRICON project team, Vatroslav Škare, participated in the 45th Annual Conference of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC), held from 24 to 27 May 2016 in Oslo, Norway. In the scope of the conference a Special Interest Group (SIG) on the topic of “Big data and privacy” was held, led by Prof. Peter Verhoef from the University of Groningen. Three working papers dealing with privacy concern challenges in the age of so called big data marketing. New insights gained on the topic will be used in the scope of PRICON research activities.

4th REDETE Conference

 
Project leader Jelena Budak, collaborator Edo Rajh and doctoral researcher Vedran Recher attended the fourth REDETE conference “Researching Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies” held in Graz from 22 to 24 October, 2015 and organized by the University of Banja Luka. 

Doctoral researcher Vedran Recher presented his paper “Development in Digital and Post-Transition Era: Online Privacy Concern Approach” that will be published in the conference proceedings.



 


6th EMAC Regional Conference 2015


Vatroslav Škare, a member of the PRICON team participated at the 6th EMAC Regional Conference 2015 held in Vienna 16-18 September 2015. At this prestigious marketing conference he presented the paper „Towards Understanding Consumers' Acceptance Of Location-Based Services In Mobile“ by Škare, Ozretić Došen and Komarac.

44th Annual Conference of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC 2015)

  
Member of the PRICON project team Vatroslav Škare, Ph.D., participated in the 44th Annual Conference of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC), held from 26 to 29 May 2015 at KU Leuven, Belgium. EMAC annual conference is one of the three largest global marketing conferences that brings together about 1000 scientists in the field of marketing from around the world. The topic of this year's conference was Collaboration in research. The purpose of the conference is to exchange ideas, disseminate research results, discuss about ongoing projects as well as networking in general. 

Vatroslav Škare participated in the conference with two papers: "Competing with Mickey Mouse: Are Museums aware of it? Managing Rising Competition and the New Museum Services and Environment" (with co-authors Tanja Komarac and Professor Đurđana Ozretić Došen, Ph.D.), and" Calming the Waters or Riding the Waves? Understanding Why and How Companies Can Leverage Anger to Empower the Brand "(with co-authors Pernille Rydén, Efthymiom Kottika, Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Ph.D.).

Conference “Citizens' Perspectives on Surveillance, Security and Privacy: Controversies, Alternatives and Solutions”



 

Project Leader Jelena Budak and member of the PRICON project team Edo Rajh participated at the Joint conference of SurPRISE, PRISMS and PACT, three FP7 projects, on the topic of “Citizens' Perspectives on Surveillance, Security and Privacy: Controversies, Alternatives and Solutions” held from 13 to 14 November, 2014 in Vienna. The abstract of the paper “Citizens' Privacy Concern: Does National Culture Matter?” presented at the conference was published in the Book of Abstracts.

5th European Marketing Academy Regional Conference


Two members of PRICON team have participated at the 5th European Marketing Academy Regional conference held from 25 to 26 September, 2014 at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland. 

EMAC Regional Conference is an initiative started several years ago by a group of professors from Central and Eastern Europe, in order to foster research on marketing in CEE region undergoing the process of systemic and economic transition. Today, the aim of the EMAC Regional Conference is to face the challenge of developing new concepts and paradigms in marketing theory, resulting from the rise of new, fast growing and changing markets all over the world. It attracts researchers far beyond Europe and regional insight has become even more important when confronted with the advances in globalization. The Conference is a great opportunity for networking and inspiring cooperation of academic researchers and marketing practitioners from different regions.   

Edo Rajh has participated with the paper entitled “The Use of Food-related Consumer Decision-Making Styles for Market Segmentation: The Case of Croatia”, co-authored by Sunčana Piri-Rajh and Ivan-Damir Anić (also a PRICON team member).   

Vatroslav Škare has participated with two papers: “How Far Away Is China? Comparing Young-Adults' Consumer Innovativeness and Consumer Ethnocentrism With The Western Balkans” (with co-authors: Matevž Rašković, Zhonghui Ding, Đurđana Ozretić Došen, and Vesna Žabkar), and “Museum Marketing and Virtual Museums in 21st Century: Can Museums Survive without it?” (with co-authors: Tanja Komarac and Đurđana Ozretić Došen).
